Uric acid value
Uric acid values are determined at the end of the morning and repeated 3 days in a row to provide an average value.

If the mean value is above these values, it is recommended that GP also have uric acid tested by laboratory and discuss possible action (in case of elevated value) with GP.
Uric acid measurement in gout
With an increased value of uric acid there is a chance of a gout attack, also an increasing trend of uric acid value can be an indication of an approaching gout attack
Initial conclusions from this method: Therapy compliance gout medication goes up, life-style adjustments (less alocohol & red meat) help avoid a gout attack. Measuring urine levels gives patients more insight and control.
